"All the benefits of Kabira Runtime, but now within a Java development environment"

Kabira's mission has always been to address the "Critical Middle of the IT Stack."

We set out to build a new class of middleware that performs:

  • In real-time, at high-speed, and with high-availability
  • This middleware must be extremely fast and highly flexible
  • It must also easily scale to very high numbers

Our flagship product, Kabira Extreme Transaction Platform (KXTP) addresses these needs.

We accomplished much of this by "Thinning the Development Layer" and moving more generalized, repeated processes into our server technology. This leaves only the need for custom business application logic to be developed to create new applications, or changes to existing applications.

And since Kabira software supports many mission critical systems, we built five 9s (99.999%) reliability into each of our applications - AND - more notably, designed our products for five 9s reliability for every transaction running through our software. At the same time, Kabira technology significantly reduces the need for additional databases, application servers and transaction handlers. Therefore, we can deliver the "performance of the big" (e.g. Tandem/mainframe levels of performance) with the "price performance of the small" (open systems hardware at a fraction of the cost of mainframes).

Kabira and Java:
Up till now, implementing Kabira technology required using our proprietary version of UML to develop custom code. While that still is the best solution for some situations, we believed that proliferation of Kabira solutions depended on building a Java technology development environment. Therefore we have worked towards that and are now announcing Kabira is marrying its Kabira Runtime to a Java VM, this will provide a Java interface and support any Java-based environment of the developer's choice.

Now, Kabira extreme transaction processing technology will be much more easily deployed into Java applications, creating the opportunity for companies to incorporate "iron-clad" KXTP features and benefits across a wide range of transactional business applications.
