Mediation

Kabira Charging and Off-line mediation solution works together with service gateways as well as deep packet inspection systems to provide new capabilities to better meet this challenge.
The Mediation element is Kabira's convergent charging and mediation product. It offers advanced capabilities for off-line, batch, event and session-based charging, as well as fine-grain policy management for both prepaid / post-paid IP service subscribers. It relies on the high-availability and scalability features of Kabira’s transaction platform, Fluency, and supports single-server (node) and clustered server deployment configurations.
When service providers deploy the Mediation product, they gain a superior level of control over their subscribers and infrastructure. With this product, you get an expanded re-usable module library with features such as "Balance Management" and "Billing Offload." It is a highly-configurable solution for online charging, and authorization that can be extended to support non-conventional needs. In addition, it offers an intuitive web-based administrative and monitoring interface to efficiently manage any number of nodes.
When the Mediation Element is deployed, service providers are better able to:
- Enable the deployment of prepaid and postpaid pricing plans based upon volume, time or event
- Manage or up sell high-usage subscribers using profile data to drive real-time authorization and measurement on a per subscriber basis
