Real-time Usage Monitoring
The Kabira Real-time Usage Monitoring Element, which is part of Kabira’s Policy Orchestration product suite, provides CSPs with a single point in their networks to apply usage accumulation and usage band events management. It can be readily combined with the Subscriber Profile Management Element that is also part of the Kabira Policy Orchestration product suite to combine profile cache capability with usage monitoring in a single 'all-in-memory' product.
This product supports solutions that go beyond other usage monitoring solutions. It allows true real-time monitoring and policy decisions that enable service providers to offer innovative pricing and service plans. It acts as a policy server PCRF decision point and interfaces with a CSP’s network through DPI, BRAS, and other PCEF network elements to provide a complete network control and decision making solution.
When deployed in their network, the Real-Time Usage Monitoring Element allows CSPs to offer real-time usage accumulation and triggering, subscriber and business policy that the CSP needs in order to offer many of today’s unique and differentiated services, like fair usage for aggregated volume, service and congestion management and fine-grained service delivery.
With Kabira’s Real-time Usage Monitoring Element, CSPs can do the following:
- Meter and control usage information
- Enable real-time proration
- Maintain identifiers for backend systems
- Trigger usage-based ‘threshold’ alerts
- Lower their cost of growth for usage based services by combining real-time usage and profile cache in a single, all-in-memory product that can scale to support future service expansion
