Pace of Return is a new strategic requirement in the fast-moving, capital-intensive global communications market. Technical complexity and convergence is multiplying. New markets emerge and evolve at record rates. Products and plans are short-lived and transitory. Customer demands and service requirements are intensifying. And, the need to deliver more with less has never been greater.

Kabira powers the Pace of Return with its Orchestration product suites that inject greater business performance and efficiency by improving Time to Revenue and reducing Cost of Growth, two of the most critical metrics of CSP management effectiveness.

This acceleration of our customer’s time to revenue has been demonstrated many times over. For example at one major North American wireless carrier where Kabira’s solutions are used for auto-provisioning of mobile subscribers the customer was able to customize the Kabira solution to meet evolving challenges faster than they thought possible. According to this customer, from the time they were notified of new requirements to production deployment was less than four weeks, which they felt was record time. In fact they noted that the actual change to the implementation took less than 1 working day.

The reduction of our customers cost of growth comes from the intrinsic scalability of Kabira’s all in-memory solution. An example of this can be seen at 3 UK who has chosen to grow their messaging business using Kabira’s software solutions.

For this customer, Kabira’s scalable transaction platform, Fluency, enables them to manage increasing demand for their messaging services including MMS, SMS and email for UK customers. The Fluency based services layer can process over 4,000 transactions a second, and enables H3G UK to process messaging transactions simultaneously while at the same time performing real-time charging for each messaging transaction. By deploying Kabira technology, 3 UK provided a second ‘Service Control’ capability in their network.

3 UK Chief Technology Officer, Graham Baxter stated, “The NAI program we run with Kabira is delivering on the strategic objective of providing a real-time transaction processing engine within our services layer to compliment our existing technologies.”

Kabira works directly with its customers and with world class partners to deliver these benefits. Another example, comes from Kabira’s partner Jet Infosystems who successfully implemented an innovative Payment Gateway solution at Vimplecom, the leading supplier of telecom services in Russia, using Kabira’s products.

VimpelCom selected Jet Infosystems to develop and implement its new mobile payment system with Kabira’s products to support its business expansion. Since 2001, VimpelCom operated its ‘Beepay’ system, developed in-house by its own IT specialists, for processing subscriber payments. In order to fulfill its expansion strategy, VimpelCom selected Jet Infosystems for its experience and the expertise of its teams in designing and developing similar types of systems.

Jet Systems chose Kabira to work with on this project and the new payment system, using Kabira’s products. This solution benefited from the very high transaction throughput and availability, provided by Fluency, to support several hundred business transactions per second. Since January, 2008 all payments for VimpelCom services are handled by the new payment system. Today the new system processes more than 6 million transactions per day, which is a testament to the scalability provided by Fluency.

As shown in the previous examples, Kabira’s software solutions act as a powerful additive solution to our customers’ networks and IT infrastructure. These solutions enable them to increase their pace of return through the deployment of innovative services that reduce their time to revenue and lower their overall cost of growth.
